Colors of Mystic

Mystic is well known as the home of Mystic Seaport, its maritime museum. The town has many other attractions, too, including glamorous mid-19th Century homes of sea captains, and a unique drawbridge in the middle of town. It is impossible, of course, to encompass all of Mystic in a slender volume. The watercolor paintings of artist and graphic designer Ashley Halsey, who grew up in the Mystic area, capture the spirit of a small, friendly town focused on the tidal river that flows through it. Ashley gives a warm and intimate view of the sites, and her charming representations add to the vibrancy of the scenes she evokes. We hope you enjoy learning more about our local landmarks through the descriptions provided by the Mystic River Historical Society.
